TO ALL CLUB MEMBERS:
FROM THE MEETING OF MAY 7, 2008

Meeting started at 8:00 PM.
Sarah was out tonight. Steve Lapointe read the minutes for our last meeting and was acting recording secretary this week. Rob Howard gave the Treasurer's report. Accepted as read.
Al Menard reported that 52 kids have turned in their paperwork to be able to race in the Jr Summer Series. A reminder, no wavier, no riding. Al also mentioned that members were pleased with how the new rule for the Pit gate is working on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. This makes it easier for all. For any changes or updates on the Jr Series, check in the Message Forum for up to the minute updates. Any questions, feel free to leave them there and Al or Kevin will get back to you. Also, it was brought to our attention that parents are letting their young kids go out on the big track unsupervised. This is a NO NO. On the weekends, this is extra dangerous. You have fast riders out there riding like they would any other time and they are not expecting some little kid to be out there. They don't want to jump on him or her, and I'm sure you don't want it to happen. Its YOUR responsibility to pull your young kid off the track when adults are out there practicing full bore. A little common sense here will go along way to keeping your child safe.
Also another reminder. Members kids must have a parent with them in order to ride the track. No parent, no ride. The exception to this is if you are 18 years of age and are working off your points to become a member and come in as a regular member.
Now in effect on Tuesday and Wednesday nights ONLY. You can leave the gate open by the Lions club until the last rider leaves the pit area. The last person out will lock it. This was presented as a motion and passed.
Mark Shepard reported on the Skid Steer Demo this past week at the club. We will be having a vote on the purchase of one on May 21. We are looking for input both from operators of these units and also questions from members. So far, the ones that are familiar with them think they are pretty useful in a lot of areas on the track the the dozer is just to big for, like in the infield. This is big purchase so we need your input. Its too late after its voted on. You have 2 weeks to express yourself on this item.
Paul Nason presented a agenda proposal that he will bring up with the BOT next week.
A Board of Trustee's Meeting will be held May 12.
A new Bylaw change will be presented next week at the meeting.
5 new Associate member was taken in tonight and 1 Regular member. 2 guest riders request were excepted
A reminder that any club members wifes or family must present a copy of their spouse's membership card in order to get in on race day or they will be charged the $10.00 gate fee. Also a reminder that the Pit gate or gate by the Lions Club must be locked after you pass through it. We will be shortening the chain, you need to get out and unlock and lock it. Anyone caught not doing this will be given a 30 day suspension for failure to comply with club rules. Also, All forms for guest riders MUST be returned to club. No exceptions. This is done to protect the club.
